Photo books are the perfect gift for any occasion.

My Irish travel site

Is it strange to post a link to my Shutterfly site here on the blogspot? I have spent a lot of time compiling this Irish travel site. I go every year, and have done since the mid 90s. People ask me all the time for tips and advice, so I decided to write it down.

It's everything you want to know about planning an Irish holiday. Everything *I* know, anyway!

Planning an Irish Holiday

There are tips and photos and things to do...genealogy info and Irish related books and movies and music to  read, watch, and listen to.

I hope you enjoy browsing, and if you have anything to add, feel free!

Photo Books...

I've been too lazy to actually write my travel journals lately, though I have made a few photo journals. I will post some of them here. Enjoy!

'Tis the Season

'Tis the season...7 weeks ago
My favorite Christmas song is Fairy Tale of New York. It doesn't translate so well in print, but you can hear it here and see the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eCr30....

Enjoy The Rebel Jesus, printed below, and listen here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OxDwy...

The Rebel Jesus, lyrics by Jackson Browne
Music with The Chieftains

All the streets are filled with laughter and light
And the music of the season
And the merchants' windows are all bright
With the faces of the children
And the families hurrying to their homes
While the sky darkens and freezes
Will be gathering around the hearths and tables
Giving thanks for God's graces
And the birth of the rebel Jesus

Well they call him by 'the Prince of Peace'
And they call him by 'the Savior'
And they pray to him upon the seas
And in every bold endeavor
As they fill his churches with their pride and gold
And their faith in him increases
But they've turned the nature that I worship in
From a temple to a robber's den
In the words of the rebel Jesus

Well we guard our world with locks and guns
And we guard our fine possessions
And once a year when Christmas comes
We give to our relations
And perhaps we give a little to the poor
If the generosity should seize us
But if any one of us should interfere
In the business of why they are poor
He'll get the same as the rebel Jesus

Now please forgive me if I seem
To take the tone of judgment
For I've no wish to come between
This day and your enjoyment
In this life of hardship and of earthly toil
We have need for anything that frees us
So I bid you pleasure
And I bid you cheer
From a heathen and a pagan
On the side of the rebel Jesus
